Domaine Saint-André — Seasoned by the Sea

Vif (adj.): A French word with no English translation. There is, however, a wine.

Domaine Saint-André sits near the town of Mèze in Languedoc, under the protection of Saint Andrew himself, patron of this sun-drenched land. Clay and limestone, kissed by coastal winds that temper the southern heat and leave the grapes with a bright, natural acidity and just a whisper of sea salt.

Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc shine in whites, a classic GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) carries the reds. Terroir Maritime takes it further: a single vineyard, vines between 45 and 60 years old, perfect maturity, perfect ripeness, nothing more. The sea does the rest.

The sea has a flavour. Domaine Saint-André has learned to bottle it.

Available at Soul Wine.
