Feudi di Guagnano — Three Friends, One Mission
The story of Feudi di Guagnano begins with something being lost, and 3 cousins, 3 young people refusing to let it go.
Faced with the gradual abandonment of ancient Negroamaro vines in the village of Guagnano, three friends stepped in. Like Tenute Chiaromonte, they revived the traditional Alberello farming method, growing vines low to the ground without support frames, as they have grown for centuries, and gave the chance to old-vine fruits to sing their own melody.
The terroir of Guagnano sits at the heart of Salice Salentino DOC, flanked by sea on two sides, producing wines with a singular mineral character. Negroamaro is the soul of the house, dark, tannic, and deeply savoury. Primitivo adds sweetness and warmth.
Their wines, Negroamaro, Primitivo, and the most special Le Camarde (Negroamaro + Primitivo) blend is an attribution to the old Camarda village, the blend is a harmonious melody: Primitivo tames the boldness of Negroamaro. Negroamaro deepens the sweetness of Primitivo. And Le Camarde, where the two become one, is perhaps the most honest portrait of all: 3 bottles, 3 cousins, 2 bloodlines that were always meant to be together.
